Please wait until all the thumbnail photos have loaded before you click on one.

You MUST have a screen resolution of 1024x768 (or greater) to view these presentations, I have designed them so that they use as much of the browser viewing window as possible.
A reasonable specification PC is required (850MHz+) otherwise the image fading will be extremely slow.

Photo Description : Markeaton Brook Walk 3, Derby, Derbyshire
Image Reference No. : DP-TAN-MBW3-50
Details : Scene showing view looking along Markeaton Brook Walk from Bridge Street.
Things to look for : In Photo A Longdon's Mill (Built 1803) is to be seen on the right side, This is replaced in Photo B by the Sir Peter Hilton Court buildings (built 1995). The mill nearer to the lens which is present in both photos is a semi-derelict textile mill built around the turn of the 20th century (Derby Tapes). Since I took this photo the mill has been demolished (in summer 2006) to make way for some waterside luxury apartments by Miller Homes East Midlands.

Derby Cathedral can be seen in the background of Photo A, but in Photo B only the 212 foot high pinacles of Derby Cathedral can be seen, due to the new building work on Brook Street.

Photo A taken : 1970
Photo B taken : 14th January 2005
Time elapsed : 35 years
Exact Map Location : click HERE.

I would like to thank Nigel Johnson for providing Photo A
