Photo Description : Ha’Penny Lane, (now Newton’s
Walk), Derby, Derbyshire Image Reference No. : DP-TAN-HALA-45 Details : Scene showing view looking up Ha' Penny Lane from the top of Sherwin street. Today Ha' Penny Lane is called Newtons Walk and connects Sherwin street to Broadway. Things to look for : It is impossible to take photo B from exactly the same place as Photo A due to the fact that the original photographer stood in the brook, The brook was culverted around 1960 and the surface raised up so I have had to do the best I could, by putting the camera on the tarmac. Photo A taken : 1917 (postcard) Photo B taken : 9th January 2005 Time elapsed : 88 years Exact Map Location : click HERE. I would like to thank Helen Wilson of photo-ark.co.uk for providing photo A.
