Photo Description : Teacher Training College, Derby.

Details : Scene showing Teacher Training College (now Derby Business centre) This
building was built in 1851 to the designs of Henry Isacc Stevens of Derby, It was built as a Diocesan Training college but today is houses several small companies.
Things to look for : This view has not changed that much, you have to look closely to see the little changes.

Photo Description : College Primary school, Great Northern Road entrance, Derby.

Details : Scene showing the back entrance to the former College Primary school.
Things to look for : This view has changed rather a lot, the school and a lot of buildings around have been demolished and replaced with this housing estate. The only feature that you can still see now is the chimney stack of the house in the middle.

Photo Description : Nottingham Road, Borrowash, Derbyshire.

Details : Scene showing Nottingham Road at its junction with Station Road in Borrowash.
Things to look for : This excellent view in Borrowash shows the Noah's Ark pub at the end of Station Road. A Barton bus waits to pick up passengers, The spire of Borrowash Methodist church (built in 1826 ) can be seen above the bus. The road to the right here will take you to Elvaston Castle, the road straight ahead will take you to Risley.

Photo Description : Nottingham Road, Derby, Derbyshire.

Details : Scene showing the railway bridge over old Nottingham road.
Things to look for : The bridge here takes the Railway over Nottingham Road. The dip in the road on the left side of Photo A was so Trams could navigate under the railway bridge. The arch to the right (seen in Photo B) was where the Derby Canal once flowed.
n.b) The observant amongst you will have spotted that I have actually taken my photo from the wrong side of the railway bridge, When I get time I will retake my now photo.

Photo Description : Reginald Street Baths, Derby, Derbyshire.

Details : Scene showing Reginald street slipper baths, built in 1903 by borough surveyor John Ward, It closed its doors in 1982 it has now been converted into a retirement home. The original clock by John Smith's of Derby is still sited on the front of this listed building.
Things to look for : Demolition of the building to the right.
