Things to look for : The two buildings in the scene remain, not a lot of changes have really taken place in 100 years. Description : Derby Greyhound Stadium (Vernon Gate), Derby. Image Reference No. : DP-TAN-GHS-67 Details : View looking down Vernon Street towards the former Derby Greyhound Stadium. Built as the County Gaol (prison) in 1826. Converted into Derby Greyhound stadium in 1926, closed in 1988. In recent years the site was refurbished and is now called Vernon Gate. Description : Agard street view, Golden Eagle pub, Derby. Image Reference No. : DP-TAN-SSV-68 Details : This pub located at 55 Agard Street,at the time called the Golden Eagle. In August 2003 the pub changed its name to Union Blue. Down the small street next to the pub (Searl street) you can see the former Rykneld Tean Mills which was converted to Brookbridge. The derilict building to the left of this photo has since been demolished to make wasy for waterside development of luxury apartments. Things to look for : The Pub moves its doors and windows around. Description : Derby Guildhall, Market Place, Derby. Image Reference No. : DP-TAN-DMPG-69 Details : View looking across Derby Market Place towards the Guildhall (built 1895). The statue of Sir Michael Bass can be seen to the right, today this is located in Museum Square. The shot tower (built 1809) of the former Cox's lead works in the Morledge can be seen over the top of the police station, the tower was demolished in 1932. Things to look for : The double-bowed building to the right was built in 1830 as replacement for the Cross Keys inn. It was turned into the offices of the Derbyshire Advertiser in 1890s.
