Photo Description : Markeaton Brook walk, westend, Derby.

Details : This is a view of Markeaton Brook walk looking west towards St Johns church.
Things to look for : The original bridge across Markeaton brook is replaced with a modern one but in the same place. The original mill buildings on the left are replaced with other mill buildings (Derby Tape mill)

Photo Description : 2 Camden Street, Derby, Derbyshire.

Details : This building at 2 Camden Street, The Rowditch , Derby is known as "Marchington House", In 1880 it was the home of Charles & Annie Riley and was also the premises for Rileys Pure Milk Dairy. Today it is the Fish Net chip shop.
Things to look for : The chimney stacks vanish. The bottom right window has been reduced in height from the top and bottom.

Photo Description : The Morledge view, Derby.

Details : This is a view of the Morledge looking towards the Guildhall and Derby Cathedral.
Things to look for : The clock tower of the Guildhall remains. as do the buildings on the
left and the fountain, but all the buildings on the corner of what was Tenant street get demolished. Amongst these was The new market vaults pub which was built as the star vaults in 1869. To the right of the pub was Sam Adams shop, a tripe dresser.
The next shop along was Milne's a mans outfitters. These shops were all cleared in April 1972.

Photo Description : North Parade view, Derby.

Details : This is a view of North Parade in Darley Abbey, as viewed from the junction with River street.
Things to look for : The shop "The Groves stores" on the left side becomes a private house. n.b. I have not quite taken my photo at the same forward angle, this is why the road seems to ramp up. I will need to take the photo again sometime.

Photo Description : 1018 Ashbourne Road, Derby.
Image Reference No. : DP-TAN-ARV-15
Details : This is a view of some buildings on Ashbourne road near the bottom of Uttoxetor old road (opposite Blockbuster video). The foundation stone of the Congregational Church was laid in 1865 and it was originally called Victoria Mission Hall. The church was damaged by a fire in 1994.
Things to look for : The former Congregational Church, part of which was left standing after a fire in 1994 is demolished and replaced by the modern building "1018".
