• Photos of the 13th Darley park concert & Firework display
These photos were taken at the 13th annual Darley Park concert and fireworks display. This year was a bit special as it was also a Jubilee concert to celebrate three important celebrations. The 25th anniversary of City status, 50th anniversary of the Queen's accession and the 75th anniversary of Cathedral status.
This concert has been held in Darley park
every year since 1990 and is always popular, this year was the most popular in its history with over 30,000 people attending. The stage was patriotically decorated in red, white and blue. The music was performed by Sinfonia Viva, orchestra of the East Midlands. During the interval a Spitfire, owned by concert sponsor Rolls-Royce, flew past.

The last piece of music performed was Land of hope and glory, to which everyone joined in waving Union Jack flags and enjoying the amazing £7,000 firework display.
I have never been to a Darley Park concert before but I really enjoyed it, To see so many people from all over Derby in one place enjoying the music and firework display. It truly was an amazing atmosphere to be part of, I would highly recommend it.
For details on this years Darley Park Concert keep an eye on my blog around the end of August each year.
