A) Markeaton Brook culvert, this was uncovered on Victoria Street during road works to strengthen the culvert. The brook used to run through the city as an open watercourse along Albert street, Victoria street and the Strand. Around 130 years ago it was culverted with a roof, this is what you can see here. |
