2016 Tansley Car Boot Sale and Sunday Market - (This car boot restarted on Sunday 21st February
This car boot is one of the largest car boot sales that I know of in Derbyshire.
The car boot opens at 6:30am for booters to setup, Sellers from 8am and finishes at 4pm.
Of course as most people know often people tend to start leaving about noon if they have sold most of their stuff.

This car boot has toilets ! normally about 7 portaloos are located at the top of the hill. One of which is disabled and has a baby changing facility. These toilets are pretty basic so don't expect soap and an air freshener (you have been warned!).
Parking per car is £1.40 (price as of May 2011)
Tansley Car boot is every Sunday and Bank Holiday and normally starts near the end of February and runs to the end of November.
Check their road signs for full details. You will see their distinctive green car boot signs going up on lots of roads in Derbyshire before car boot season kicks off.

Here is a video I made of a time-lapse drive from Derby to Tansley Car Boot. Its not the most direct driving route, its more of a scenic route taking in a lot of familiar locations.
But it does clearly give you an idea of where about the car boot sale is location. Set in stunning countryside offering great views towards Matlock.
This video is recorded in HD so has plenty of detail.
You may notice that I missed the left turn at 04:20 for the B6014, this would have taken me straight to Tansley Car Boot Sale. I just carried on a bit futher up Afreton Road and the car boot sale had signs at Lickpenny Lane so not a problem. This detour added 1.3Miles to the journey.

Car Boots I have been to in this area are Derby Cattle Market Car Boot, Willington Car Boot, Shardlow Car Boot, Moira Car Boot, Measham Car Boot. I think there is also one in Summer weekends at the Treetops Hospice, Derby Road, Risley.
