| This was the 19th Derby Carnival to take place and it featured over 20 groups of dancers and costumed bands. It is organised by the Derby West Indian Community Association.
The parade started at Pear Tree infant school on Pear tree street and proceeded along Portland street, then onto St Thomas road, Pear Tree Road and up Normaton Road towards town and the Market Place. This was the first time I have seen this carnival and I was very impressed by the how thing, The colourful costumes were amazing and I loved the music. The streets along the route were filled with spectators. Most of the photos on this page were taken near the start of the parade.
