1963 the village street led to a chain ferry over the River Trent, but
it is now just a cul-de-sac. The ferry took you to the other side where
you could get to Milton via Meadow

Description : St Andrew Image Reference No. : DP-280302TWYFORD-01 Exact map location : Click HERE Date photo taken : 28th March 2002 Other Information : This is Saint Andrews church which has a Norman chancel arch, a 13th century lower stage tower with 15th century upper stage spire recessed behind battlements. The chancel is 14th century. In the 18th century the nave was remodelled with brick, now covered with Ivy. This fine church is Grade I listed. |

It is now a delightful private house. |
