Photos of Sudbury Hall, Sudbury, Derbyshire, England Sudbury Hall was the creation of George Vernon in the middle 1600's and the home to the Vernon family until 1967, now owned by the National Trust. In the 19th century wing of the hall is the Museum of Childhood past and present which features lots of old and new toys. The beautiful 18th Century landscaped gardens lead down to a lake, This is free to walk around. A separate charge will be made to visit the Hall and the museum of childhood. The hall is normally open between the end of March and the beginning of November. Sudbury open prison in Derbyshire. In 2007 Sudbury hit the headlines due to several prinsoners going on the run from Sudbury open prison. |
